Fans of the Mythos work inspired by horror fantasist H. P. Lovecraft and his successors will doubtless be aware that a number of Lovecraftian Tarot decks have been developed. As one of those fans and a Tarot collector, I have looked at many of them, but this is the first I have ever bought.

I believe this is the first of such decks that capture both the eerie spirit of the Cthulhu Mythos and operate as proper Tarot cards. They also add a layer of esoteric symbolism that bridges the gap between the (supposed) fictional world of Eldritch Horror and the actual practice of grimoire based magic.

Sadly I believe this wonderful work may have come and gone and may not be readily available. I obtained it at the Half Price Books on Westheimer Road in Houston, Texas, although it was an unopened copy. Prior to seeing it in the Tarot case, I was not aware of it’s existence.
